::{ BGA vs. EKA }::

A couple weeks before kid #2 showed up we decided to head to one of our favorite parks to take some pictures before the three of us became the four of us.  Bug did pretty well as we corralled her for photos, but by the end she just wanted to play, which is exactly what she did.

With kid #2 we decided we were going to wait until the kid was born to find out the gender.  It was a lot easier than I thought it would be to wait, but that's probably because we lead insanely busy lives and didn't have a lot of time to fret over knowing/not knowing the gender.  As such, we had to pick out names for a boy and a girl.  People asked me throughout my pregnancy if I had a feeling of what I'd have.  To be honest, not really.  This pregnancy was very different from Ainsley's, and I felt much bigger much sooner, but even still, I never had that "inkling" that we were having a boy.

As you may have heard, the name we picked for a boy was Beckham Grant.  We carried on the family name and did the Adams family proud.  No pressure, little guy, but you're carrying the torch for the male line of the Adams family now.  Steve's happy to be off the hook.

Had it been a girl, her name would have been Eliza Kate.  Lots of connections/reasons for this particular choice.  Future daughter, now you know your name.  =)

It's hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that AJ is already three.  Some days she seems so grown up, and other days she still seems so little.  Time is a really funny thing when you have kids.  Even though another little human has joined the party, Bug will always be my baby girl.

This was right around the time that she started to get antsy and camera shy.  And that's when we bribed her with tootsie rolls.  Steve even snagged a few kisses here and there.

One of the fun things about AJ these days is her conversation skills.  She is a chatterbox!  Her imagination and creativity sometimes result in completely bizarre explanations, but it's so fun to get a peak inside her little head based on what she talks about.

This is our normal view of Bug - she leaves us in the dust all. the. time.  Sometimes it's charming, and sometimes it's completely maddening.  She lives life at a million miles a minute, and we simply have to do our best to keep up.

We ended the day at the fountain.  We figured we had about five minutes of a dry Bug, and then it would be over...

She lasted for maybe four.  That smile says it all.

Different day, different park, but still the same fearless Bug.

What's a trip to the zoo without an up close and personal encounter with a kangaroo?  We love that the kangaroos have free reign in their habitat - it's not unusual to find them napping on the path where the visitors can walk.
